Spathovouni works
As part of the strategic upgrade and maintenance of critical sections of the National Highway, VIOLIAP implemented a technically demanding and decisive project in the Spathovouni area. The project focused on the overall renewal and reinforcement of the street lighting system on a road section of high demands, where optimal brightness is an essential factor for driver safety, particularly due to the mountainous terrain and complex road conditions.Using special high platforms (baskets) of the latest technology, our technicians undertook access to the high lighting pylons to perform maintenance and replacement work at a truly great height, something essential for the uninterrupted and safe operation of the network.
The work included a full inspection and diagnostic test of each pylon, with emphasis on the electrical integrity, mechanical stability and performance of the existing lighting fixtures. A massive replacement of obsolete lamps with state-of-the-art, energy-efficient LED luminaires was carried out, which offer superior luminous flux, longer life and significantly reduced energy consumption. At the same time, thorough cleaning and maintenance of all components was carried out, removing oxidation, pollutants and plant residues that degrade performance and slow down the wear and tear of the facilities.

Safety
The safety of workers and road users was the utmost priority. All operations were carried out under strict protocols, with full personal protective equipment, a mutual communication system and traffic regulation to avoid any interference with road flow. The project was completed within the stipulated schedule and with absolute attention to quality, delivering an upgraded, reliable and economically viable street lighting system. The intervention in Spathovouni demonstrates VIOLIAP’s ability to respond effectively to complex technical challenges, contributing decisively to enhancing the safety and operational reliability of the national road network.
