Polydendri Node
VIOLIAP successfully completed special cleaning and restoration works at the strategically important Polydendri junction. The project focused on the intensive restoration of the roadsides of the National Highway, which due to the accumulation of garbage, rubbish and natural debris had drastically reduced their width and safety for users. Our action aims not only at the aesthetic upgrade of the junction’s entrance/exit, but also at the restoration of full access and safety for drivers and pedestrians.
The work began with the systematic removal of all accumulated garbage and rubbish, which included plastic, paper materials, metal objects and household waste that had been abandoned along the roadsides. We then proceeded to thoroughly open and unclog the blocked sidewalks and stormwater drainage pipes, which, due to the accumulation of mud, soil and plant debris, had weakened the proper drainage of water, creating the risk of flooding during the rains.

The project was implemented with minimal impact on daily traffic flow, thanks to careful planning and the use of appropriate mechanical equipment for the rapid and efficient removal of materials. The result was the full restoration of functionality and safety at the junction, the improvement of the image of the urban landscape and the enhancement of the general hygiene of the surrounding area.. VIOLIAP’s intervention at the Polydendri interchange is a typical example of the integrated services we offer for the maintenance and protection of the national road infrastructure, with an emphasis on social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
