High-altitude road works

High-altitude road works

VIOLIAP implemented a critical and technically demanding maintenance and modernization project of the lighting system on the National Highway, aiming to ensure optimal brightness and absolute safety during night driving. The project focused on the inspection, preventive maintenance and replacement of lamps at heights requiring specialized mechanical equipment and technical skills.Through special self-propelled high platforms (also known as “basket trucks” or “elevators”), our technicians safely and precisely accessed the lighting poles, carrying out work at truly great heights, often over 30 meters.

The work included a full inspection of each pillar, as well as the replacement of outdated or damaged lamps with new, high-energy-efficient LED luminaires or equivalent lamps of the same efficiency, as the case may be. This upgrade not only ensured stronger and more uniform lighting, but also contributed to a significant reduction in energy consumption and operating costs, benefiting both the environment and public expenditure. At the same time, cleaning work was carried out on the luminaires and protective glasses, removing accumulated dust that reduced the effectiveness of the lighting.

Safety

Safety was the absolute priority at every stage of the project. All interventions were carried out under strict protocols, with appropriate mooring and protection systems for technicians, and with minimal to no impact on traffic flow, thanks to good organization and priority implementation during low-traffic hours. This project confirms VIOLIAP’s ability to handle complex and high-risk operations at a national level, providing integrated solutions that enhance the functionality, safety and sustainability of the national road infrastructure.
